Epithalon

What is Epithalon?

Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, developed at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as the synthetic analog of the pineal preparation epithalamin. It is the flagship compound of the peptide bioregulator field and the most cited peptide in telomerase research.

Research Applications

• Telomerase Activity: Published work reports that Epithalon induces telomerase activity and telomere elongation in human somatic cells — the finding the peptide is best known for.
• Aging Research: Long-running animal studies from the Khavinson group examined lifespan, tumour incidence and markers of biological age.
